The webtoon jointly produced by webtoon creation studio Kenaz (CEO Lee Woo-jae) and NTT DoCoMo, Japan's largest mobile carrier, announced today (26th) that the first exclusive service on NTT DoCoMo's e-book platform 'd ブック' will be held.

An official said, "The webtoon co-produced by both companies is based on the novel of the same name by Gong Ra-hee, and starting with the work, the second co-production (Japanese service name: スパイハウス) will be launched in February. Kenaz and NTT DoCoMo plan to introduce a total of 10 co-produced works in dbook sequentially over the next two years, including the above two works."

"Meanwhile, dbook is one of NTT Docomo's telecommunications and smart life businesses (video, music provision), and it is an e-book platform that serves more than 900,000 contents such as webtoons, cartoons, novels, and practical books for 88.5 million NTT Docomo telecommunications users and general users," he explained.

In this regard, Kenaz said, "Rather than settling in the domestic webtoon market, we aim to promote the globalization of true IP through global co-production and talent development targeting the world, and after that, we aim to break down the cultural barrier by introducing webtoon contents to more users around the world with various partners through our own Big Tech distribution line."

"Based on China's ByteDance (19′), Korea's Kakao Page (20′~22′), Japan's Wacom·Celsis (23′), and the experience of conducting academies at home and abroad, and co-production with China's NetEase and Tencent, webtoon production company Kenaz is planning global academies and global production in Europe and North America."
